Every great story starts with a little bit of serendipity, and ours began in a student residence hall in the West Midlands, in a small town called Wolverhampton.

We met in our second year at university as complete strangers who happened to book rooms in the same flat. The first time we crossed paths was in the kitchen, when one of us (let’s not name names) wandered in to grab a glass of orange juice, completely unaware that the other had said hello. The greeting drifted past unheard… a tiny missed moment that would later become one of our favourite stories to tell.

It wasn’t love at first sight. In fact, it was quite the opposite.

​

We bickered, teased, and debated everything under the sun. Our flatmates found endless amusement in it all, often stirring the pot just to watch the show. Looking back, maybe even then, we were already a team, just the kind that argued over whose turn it was to take the bins out.

​

But as time passed we found ourselves spending more and more time together. It was quiet, unplanned, and felt like home. Somewhere between 6pm dinners and movie nights that ran too late, we stopped feeling like flatmates and started feeling like something more.

​

Then one day, out of the blue, there was a kiss. A moment that changed everything.

​

The very next day, we officially became a couple. And now, five years later to the exact day, we’ll be saying “I do.”

​

What started as a missed greeting in a kitchen has become a life filled with so much laughter and love. And we still can’t quite believe how something so ordinary became the most extraordinary part of our lives.

 

This isn’t just our wedding day. It’s the anniversary of our beginning, the celebration of five years of choosing each other again and again. We’re so grateful to share this next chapter with the people who’ve been part of our journey. Thank you for celebrating this day with us, it truly means the world.
